TL;DR

  • OnLeaks has published what appear to be images of Galaxy S26 dummy units.
  • The units in the images should be nearly identical to the S26 series’ final designs.
  • The Galaxy S26 series will have camera bumps that look quite a bit like the ones on Galaxy Z Fold phones.

The new year is right around the corner, and that means we’re coming up on Galaxy Unpacked. The event is expected to take place a little later this time, with the Galaxy S26 reveal reportedly pushed back a few weeks. Today, though, a new leak is giving us a good idea of what the phones’ finalized hardware will look like.

According to a couple of posts by OnLeaks on Twitter, the Galaxy S26 series will look more than a little like the Galaxy S25 series. One notable difference, though, is that the forthcoming phones’ camera bumps will look like the ones on Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold phones, with three individual camera lenses enclosed in a pill-shaped camera bump.

As of December 31, 2025, leaked dummy units and hands-on videos of the Galaxy S26 series (released by reliable tipster OnLeaks) confirm that Samsung is moving away from the “floating lens” look to a design that heavily borrows from its 2025 foldable lineup.

The Main Design Shift: The “Fold” Influence

The most striking change seen in the dummy units is the transition to a unified camera island, a direct design cue from the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 launched earlier in 2025.

  • Pill-Shaped Module: Instead of the individual camera rings seen on the S25, the S26 and S26 Ultra now feature a raised, oval-shaped island that encloses the three primary lenses.

  • A Unified Identity: Analysts suggest this is an attempt to create a consistent “flagship look” across both the S-series and the Fold-series, helping the brand feel more cohesive.

  • The “Wobble” Factor: While the island looks sleeker, early reviews of the dummy units note that the raised module makes the phone “wobble” significantly more when placed flat on a table, similar to the complaints aimed at the Z Fold 7.

Borrowing from the “Edge” and the Pixel

Beyond the foldable-inspired camera bump, the S26 series is also taking notes from other 2025 industry trends:

Design/Feature Influence Source of Inspiration
Ultra-Thin 6.9mm Body Borrowed from the Galaxy S25 Edge (the “Slim” model from late 2025).
Softer Corners The S26 Ultra is ditching the sharp, boxy Note-style corners for the rounded aesthetics seen on the base S25 and S25+.
Natural Portraits Software leaks from One UI 8.5 suggest Samsung is “borrowing” Google’s Pixel 10 philosophy by reducing skin over-processing for more realistic textures.
Qi2 Magnetic Charging Following the lead of the Pixel 10 and iPhone 17, the S26 dummy units show internal space for the new magnetic wireless charging standard.

What This Means for the Lineup

By adopting these cues, the S26 series marks the end of the “Note era” design. Even the Ultra model now looks nearly identical to the base models from the front, differing primarily in its larger 6.9-inch display and the inclusion of a built-in S-Pen.
