TL;DR

  • Motorola is teasing a new thin and light phone, the Moto Edge 70, for an international release in November.
  • The Moto Edge 70 is confirmed to have a 4,800mAh battery, a much larger capacity than the Galaxy S25 Edge and iPhone Air, as well as 68W fast charging.
  • Leaks suggest that the phone will also feature a 50MP primary camera with OIS, as well as Pantone-branded color variants.

Thin and light smartphones are the next craze after foldables, and it seems everyone wants to make one. Samsung stole the show with its thin-and-light Galaxy S25 Edge, and Apple impressed with the iPhone Air. While the phones are impressive, the big caveat with a thin and light smartphone is compromised battery life, as there’s less physical space available for a large battery. But what if you could pack a decent-sized battery in a thin and light phone? That would make it prime for replacing your conventional smartphone, and it seems Motorola is on track to do just that with the Moto Edge 70.

The phone being referred to is likely the Motorola Edge 70.

Rumors and reports suggest that the Moto Edge 70 is a “thin flagship” device that is expected to outperform its ultra-slim competitors, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge and the iPhone Air (which is also referred to as the iPhone 17 Air), in terms of battery capacity and charging speeds.

Key details supporting this:

  • Larger Battery: The Moto Edge 70 is rumored/teased to have a 4,800mAh battery, which is significantly larger than the Galaxy S25 Edge’s 3,900mAh and the iPhone Air’s reported 3,149mAh.
  • Faster Charging: The Edge 70 is also confirmed to feature 68W fast charging, which is considerably faster than the Galaxy S25 Edge’s 25W wired charging and the iPhone Air’s typically slower charging speeds (around 20W wired).
  • Thin Design: Despite the larger battery, leaks suggest the Moto Edge 70 will still maintain a thickness of under 6mm, placing it in the same ultra-thin category as its rivals.
